- 1. If LHarc encounters an odd file, it tries to 'repair' it, which
- usually results in the file ending up being HUGE. The Manix, lzh file
- is probably archived with a later version of Lharc, or another archiver
- altogether. try extracting it with the -k option. It might work!
- (Or, try running 'What-is' v. 6.3 or later. That might tell you what
- it is!)
-
- 2. Gaunt-Ed'. Make sure you are using LHarc version 2.01L and use
- that -k switch, which bypasses most incompatibility problems!
- ('generate compatible headers'). Gaunt-Ed is for editing the *original*
- 2-disk version of Gauntlet. If you have a 1-disk version, or Gauntlet 2,
- it won't work!
-
- 3. Find a copy of F-Copy 3. This has an option to copy to 'New Conf'
- (New Configuration). Which will convert a say, 80-track, 9-sector
- per track, single sided disk. into say, a 82-track, 10-sector per track,
- double sided disk. Or any format into any other format! And it leaves
- your data intact! (It will only work with file-based disks, not data
- disks such as commercial games etc.) Very fast too!
-
- 4. You may have a problem with the drive itself if it isn't
- recognising media change to that degree. Even with FMC!
- (If you are using TOS 1.0, you might want to try and get TOS 1.2 or
- 1.4, which speeds things up and generally makes life easier!!)
