  15. Finder does use the icon files instead. Your problems might relate to icon file
  16. search order.

  22. Finder 6.0 has a preference to prevent saving the Finder.data files. This
  23. should work, unless it automatically converts old files. I doubt locking the
  24. files will make a difference. The Finder.data file format changed from 5.0.4 to
  25. 6.0.
