  13. Like others, I have found that I occassionally need to clean my 3.5" disk
  14. drive.

  16. Whenever I start to get weird problems, like when I can't format a disk, or
  17. when I can't read a disk, I just pop in a Radio Shack disk cleaner that uses
  18. a wet solution, and I'd say that in 9 out of 10 cases, those unreadable
  19. disks become readable again.

  21. That might happen once or twice a year. Since the head cleaner is slightly
  22. abrasive, I don't think it's a good idea to use in on a regular basis.

  24. I've also found that it helps, every couple of years, to open the drive
  25. case and remove excess gunk that has found it's way in there. I have a bald
  26. spot, and always wondered where that hair went when it fell out. After I
  27. opened my 3.5" disk drive, I found every one that ever fell out. Inside the
  28. case.
