- (please post only once Brian)
-
- Recreating the Extras would be difficult for an NDA. The only requests
- extensions are expected to anticipate outside of Finder are
- finderSaysBeforeOpen and finderSaysOpenFailed. Therefore, an NDA would have to
- recreate the entire Finder environment to completely handle extensions.
- However, QuickLaunch, for one, only (I guess) requires the Extras menu and none
- of the Finder's other services. Also, if anything asked
- tellFinderGetSelectedIcons, the NDA would respond with no icons. But how to
- deal with tellFinderSetSelectedIcons or other requests for action?
-
- Btw, it would be much simpler for the NDA to put Extras in its own window, not
- the System menu bar.
-
- If an extension seems Finder-independent and you want it outside of Finder, ask
- the other for an NDA.
