- The HP DeskJet 500 printer contains firmware which limits its use
- strictly to DOS systems (RSXXX and Centronics I/O). The HP DeskWriter
- printers are designed for the MAC world. To provide both environment
- capabilities in the same printer would make the printer more expensive.
- I'm not sure, but you can check with an HP dealer as to the availability
- of DOS -> MAC (DeskJet -> DeskWriter) conversion kits.
