  12. I just thisafternoon saw a nice "special effects" magazine (had something
  13. to do with Cinema* in the title) and there was a rather large spread about
  14. the upcoming Babylon 5 and, particularly, the creation of the special
  15. effects for the show. I won't requote the magazine here (I couldn't do the
  16. pictures justice anyway) but some of the major points were... all of the
  17. spaceships and "outside" shots were done completely with the Video Toaster
  18. and an Amiga 2500. The entire special effects budget for the show was in
  19. the neighborhood of $250,000. The animators raved about the Toaster, it's
  20. power and flexibility and the fact that they got fantastic output (!) for
  21. such a small investment of time, effort, and money. Please correct me if I
  22. got something wrong.

  24. Most of you Amiga enthusiasts already know Babylon 5 was an Amiga project
  25. so I won't go on about it. My point is this... If Commodore gets a single
  26. scrap of credit or press for this show sales of Amigas and Video Toasters
  27. are going to skyrocket. I don't do animation and I want one myself. Maybe
  28. Commodore should seriously consider blowing their annual ad budget for
  29. some serious commercial time during the premier of Babylon 5. Maybe they
  30. should lean on NewTek to finish the A4000 Toaster before next week. Comments?
