  18. I've got one of each ( 85 ELS and 80 LPS ) in a dual bay external HD case
  19. attached to a 3000.  I'd was looking for another 80 LPS, but the 85 ELS was 
  20. all they had in stock.

  22. I've never run a quantitative speed comparison on them, but haven't noticed 
  23. any significant performance differences in day to day use.

  25. They do sound different.  The old LPS sort of 'burbles'.  The new ELS has
  26. more of a 'click' to it.  Neither of them is annoying, but the ELS sound
  27. is more noticable.
