- Your information on packet units (TNC's) is slightly incorrect. There
- is no special software required to drive the TNC, just use a standard
- term program, such as the one that you use to call BBS's. The TNC
- uses standardized commands from the term program, internally converts
- them into x.25 packets which are fed into the audio of your radio. You
- can purchase any number of TNC, Kamtronics (which I use), AEA, etc, as
- long as they are external devices. The only TNC's that you can't use,
- at least directly, are those that fit internally into a IBM PC or MS-DOS
- machine. Hopefully this will help.
