- I'm posting this for a friend.
-
- According to instructions I have, it looked like a straight
- forward operation...but something went wrong..somewhere. Here's what I
- did.
- 1. I began by bending down PIN 41 (PAL/ntsc) in the Agnus socket,
- inserted the Fatter Agnus, removed the memory expansion and then turned
- on the computer. Everything was O.K.
- 2. Next I cut the jumper (JP2), and soldered the top two jumpers
- together.
- 3. That done, I went on to cut the track that connects pin 32
- on Gary to the CNX expansion port ("runs up from a plated hole, which
- is 1/8" to the left of pin 41 on the expansion connector").
- 4. POWER ON: Green Screen (chip RAM error ?) REBOOT: Yellow Screen (?)
- I then rebooted the computer several times and the screen usually
- turned green. I then removed the memory expansion and then
- everything seemed O.K.
-
- I was a bit surprised that this didn't work, as I had followed the
- instructions carefully. In my distress, I consulted a self-appointed
- Amiga expert who quickly pointed out that I had cut the wrong track to
- the expansion connector, and told me to cut a parallel track that was
- a bit to the right of the one I'd cut and very close to "the white silk
- screened line". (This track goes up to a solder pad just below and to
- the left of C13.)
-
- 5. I reconnected the track I'd cut first, and cut the new one.
-
- 6. Power ON: Nothing happened. Blank Screen, no Power light. No
- nuthin'. I then removed the memory expansion and turned on the
- computer. Everything seemed O.K., BUT everything was NOT O.K !!
- I booted up some disk-guy and found out that both my joystick ports
- were non-functioning. This is the current situation.
-
- Please Help!! Thanks in advane. Koni.
