- The problem is that the CLI-window should not be opened until the Screenmode
- is set properly, so up to the command run IPrefs no output is allowed to
- the window. If this is done properly, no window will open, until the
- Screenmode is set properly. Unfortunately some CLI-Commands try to output
- something (or access the Output-Filehandle). Most of them can be used
- with >NIL: <NIL:, so that they don't output anything. Other commands don't
- work even this way (e.g. the setmap-command). They always force opening
- of the window (and of the screen in the wrong mode). Just don't use this
- commands before the IPrefs. (I had to move my setmap d-command just
- after IPrefs).
-
- For the second question: Don't use any system-configuration file.
- I think this is just a relict from the old WB1.3-days. Under 2.0
- (and up) you can't edit the system-configuration-file anymore, although
- it is read on booting. If you really want to change it, you must use
- old 1.3-Preferences. But under 2.0 there is no need in this file.
- Delete it and use the usual preferences which store their information
- in ENVARC: from where it is copied to ENV: when booting...
