- I have posted on this subject several times, and I am just about ready to trash
- my A2000HD. The problem is this:
-
- I have been having inexplainable system crashes for about a year now. The
- guru's are usually something like 8000 0004. The crashing usually begins
- about 30mins. after I first boot up and then continues at random. I have
- had the system crash in TERM (all versions), JRCOMM, MultiPlot, and every
- other program I have (even during bootup, sometimes...)
-
- I am running 2.04 (it crashed before I upgraded from 1.3 as well). I have a
- 2091 HD Controller/40 Mbyte Quantum. I use Toolmanager2.0, NickPrefs,
- DirWork1.62?, FracBlank, and the above mentioned progs. I have a 2088
- bridgeboard as well (using older Janus software), although I have tried
- leaving out the binddrivers command in my startup and it makes no difference,
- as far as the crashing goes... I have even tried using the system after
- booting up from the original WB disks to no avail. (Which is what makes me
- want to believe it is a hardware problem...)
-
- I have taken my machine to the nearest service center and they said that
- they ran a complete diagnostic and couldn't find a thing wrong with the
- thing. (Of course I told them that it takes it awhile sometimes and to let
- it go awhile, but I doubt they let it go long enough.... personally, I don't
- think that they knew what they were doing...) I have 2 MEG of memory on the
- 2091 card and all memory test say that the mem. checks out. I have used both
- the program that comes w/the 2091 as well as the PD MemCheck program.
-
- Would someone please help me with this? I desperately need my machine to do
- school work. Not to mention the fact that a guru every min. when you are
- trying to do anything is VERY annoying. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I
- have seen a few other people w/the same prob, and we would really like to
- have control of our machines again.... HELP!
