- I have been a faithful Amigoid since 1985, having purchased an A1000, A2000,
- A3000, and now an A4000. HOWEVER, this business with monitors and flicker
- seems to be getting worse rather than better. I understand CBM's desire to
- provide as many options as possible to the user community and I appreciate
- that, but we naive users who don't understand all the details of various
- video-related concepts are only getting more confused. There are many
- users of Amigas like myself who simply want to turn the machine on, get the
- best resolution, most colors, and NO flicker, without so much difficulty.
-
- I read all the manuals that came with the A4000 and even read the AGA
- supplement, but they do not help!! I saw the list of monitors provided by
- Bjorn Stenberg (very nice), now I need someone to interpret it for me...
-
- I want to buy a monitor for my A4000. The cost must be under $5000, this is
- my only restriction. Therefore, from that list, which monitor will give me
- the best resolution (i.e. maximum number of visible rows and columns),
- maximum number of colors, overscan (i.e. no borders - all of the visible
- screen real estate usable), and NO FLICKER.
-
- I am accustomed to using Sun workstations at work, so I basically want my
- Workbench screen to approach as nearly as possible that type of appearance
- in terms of screen size and resolution.
-
- Can someone help be please
