- Just bought a Canon BJ-200 (at Best Buy even!:) and it is SUPERB.
- Everything from controls to cartridge replacement are well designed
- and very compact. The print quality is a very crisp 360x360 dpi, and
- it equals or betters just about every laser printer I've ever used,
- even some of the top of the line HPs (no flames!--I'm just REALLY
- impressed with the bubblejet's price/performance level).
-
- It is VERY fast (in high-quality mode) with all wordprocessors I've
- tried it with (my new FinalCopyII is still in the mail), but it slows
- when printing hard-core graphics (at least until I get the latest driver--
- this is said to help a bunch on graphics handling).
-
- The cartridges for these machines are interesting because they contain
- the print head, so every time you buy a new ink cartridge (400-500 text
- page life) you get a new print head contained with it. This makes the
- cartridges a bit expensive ($20) but looks to be a good design choice in
- the long run. I'll have to keep you posted to see how it is going in a
- year or so (Canon has a TWO YEAR warranty!).
- Oh yeah, the machine's price is $359 (US) and comes with built in sheet
- feeder (100 sheets) and ink cartridge (and install disk for IBM's with
- windows).
