- Hello,
-
- I am trying to get an A2091 and a Quantum GoDrive 40S (2.5") to
- work on my A1000. I have built a little adapter card that
- does the 86 -> 100 pin conversion, as well as the cable between
- the A2091 50 pin connector to the smaller (and different format)
- 50 pin connector on the GoDrive. The power for the motor drive
- is coming from the power connector on the A2091.
-
- When I turn on my Amiga, the GoDrive motor starts and it sounds
- like the heads seek back and forth for 10 seconds or so. Then
- just about the same time the kickstart prompt appears, the
- drive stops spinning. When I run HDToolBox, it scans through
- the SCSI addresses and reports that no drives are connected to
- the system.
-
- I have checked my wiring several times, and it all seems okay.
- Does anyone know if there is some difference in the interface
- between the 2.5" and 3.5" SCSI drives? I read the Quantum
- manual, but I can't find anything relevant to what I am
- trying to do. I am hoping that I am missing something
- simple.
-
- I plan on acquiring some ram this week so that I can test
- if the memory portion of the A2091 will work properly. That
- will at least help test the 86->100 pin adapter that I made.
-
- Thanks for any help,
- Joe Peck
