- Well, the Amiga was designed by intelligent people and there is no limit
- for adding memory in the OS itself. The 9-meg limit comes from the 68000
- itself and there's no such limit in 68020/030/040 which can address 4Gbytes
- instead of 16MBytes.

-
- You can only have 8MB of FAST RAM in the Zorro II autoconfig area, ie.
- the area that can be accessed by 68000 and Zorro II expansion boards.
- You can have any amount of RAM above the 16-meg space if your accelerator
- allows for it. Some accelerators place their RAM in the 16-megs space,
- so any other device connected to the CPU bus can directly access that
- RAM (like hard disk interfaces etc). Some accelerators place their RAM
- above the 16-meg boundary and if that is the case with your board, you
- can still have another 8 MBytes of 'normal' FAST RAM in your machine.
-
- Having 16-bit (below 16MB) FAST RAM on an accelerated machine isn't all
- that wise, though.. The 32-bit CPU's slow down to 68000's speed or below
- when they have to access slow 16-bit memory.

-
- It has nothing to do with 2.x or 3.x.
