  21. The PPM utils will convert iff files (ILBM forms) to lots of formats,
  22. including GIF, which works well for X displays (which are 8-bit anyway).
  23. On our machine they came as part of X11R4.  Also, I think they're
  24. ftp-able from somewhere.  Anyone know? xport.lcs.mit.edu?
