  25. We use a 3000 with GfxBase X and ethernet and it does quite well.
  26. Running it monochrome is plenty fast. Running in color is a bit
  27. slower.  I would imagine that the PC X is going to be slower due to
  28. VGA issues.  On a 4000 Amiga X should be great.

  30.     Potential problems: I don't know if there is an AGA version
  31. yet, sou you may be limited to 16 colors.  Also using a standard
  32. display you are limited to say 800 X 500 or so (depending on how
  33. you push overscan).  This is a bit small for most X apps -- BUT:
  34. 1) you can use a large bit map (1200X1200) and quickly scroll around
  35. (works great) or 2) get GfxBase display board that allows 8 bit
  36. color and large screens.  I haven't tried the latter but I
  37. understand that it's quite nice.

  39. Anyway, It's very stable and very usable.  Another plus is that you
  40. can record to video (or genlock) which is impossible or _very_
  41. expensive on other systems. Great for making training tapes for Sun
  42. applications etc.
