- Yeah, we don't give a shit if other versions of programs are
- ten times better! We don't want to know if software companies
- are putting out inferior software.! We want to be ISOLATIONISTS!
-
- Seriously...
-
- Personally, I WANT to know if the Amiga version is
- significantly inferior to other versions. I refuse to support
- companies that put out ports quickly (or not so quickly, in
- Origin's case...) for the sake of getting a port out, without
- worrying about the quality. Right now Origin fits that bill
- rather nicely. I don't want to say "OOH! Wing Commander for
- the Amiga! I'm going to run out and buy it now simply because
- they finally ported it." I did that with Ultima V... I went
- and bought it, simply because it was Ulitma V, without even
- bothering to find out how it compared to the other versions,
- and I feel I was ripped off. From the sound of it, WC for the
- Amiga, while nice, and perhaps reasonable by the standards of
- about five years ago, just simply doesn't cut it, either.
-
- AS LONG AS WE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT BAD PORTS WITHOUT LETTING THE
- COMPANIES KNOW THAT WE WON'T TAKE IT, THE COMPANIES WILL
- CONTINUE TO PUT OUT BAD PORTS.
