  13.    That's really wierd. Mine hardly dithers. You have roms 2.0 with at least
  14. workbench 2.04???? You sure you have more than 1 meg of memory?? 1.5 megs is
  15. what you will probably need with a hard drive. Perhaps you can  contact
  16. Mindscape to find out whether they made changes. Perhaps, they didn't change
  17. the version number when they updated it. If you are running on a machine with
  18. at least those specks and you still see the 16-color version, I would try to
  19. contact them. You should only see that dithering if you have 1.x type Roms
  20. installed in your computer. Most of the time, the Wing Commander in front of
  21. me has smooth color transitions ala. Monkey Island 1. All I know is that they
  22. told me that it went through improvements before being released while I was
  23. waiting for my copy. At least 2 fullshipments went through Amigaman /
  24. Computer Basics at phone number: 1-800-258-0533 before I ordered mine.
  25. Mindscape stopped shipping the thing to them for a little while, mine came
  26. with the shipment that they finally released to them.

  28.     Anyone who gets it from them should see exactly what I see. It was
  29. posted that the game originally used just 16-colors in leu of the A500, but
  30. they were to make improvements and support AGA machines for revisions on
  31. Wing Commander 1. They will not release a just 16-color version for 
  32. Wing Commander 2, that'll be 32-color or better. 
  33.       Mindscape though should be able to accomodate you if you want to
  34. upgrade the thing. They probably wouldn't even charge you. Just tell them
  35. that the version you have only does 16-color while someone you know works
  36. in 32 with OS version 2.0 and up. Turn off your screen blankers firstand
  37. any other background jobbies like that first to make sure, try it again,
  38. if you still see the dithering, then you may want to give them a holler.

  40.       About the music, I still don't know how you can not like it. But, it's
  41. a matter of personal taste I guess. Some people like Tom Petty, others like
  42. Michael Jackson and hate Tom Petty, some want only Metallica. Go figure.
  43.      If you don't like the music on this version, you wouldn't like the
  44. Wing Commander music on any version. Some people don't go for the orchestral
  45. approach. Movie soundtrack lovers will get a kick out of it though.

  52.       P.S. -- If it is any consolation, the version they ship now to the stores
  53. probably couldn't have ben done better with 32 colors, that's why I praised the
  54. 32 color graphics so much, because Mindscape can do magic even with that 
  55. limitation. Just like a few Sega games that come to mind.
