- High Speed modems take a little bit of getting used to. You have to set
- the computer's baud rate to some value equal to or greater than the speed
- of the connection you hope to make. The modem through hardware handshaking
- (make sure CTS/RTS it on and your cable supports it) sends the data at this
- higher rate to your computer.
- If you are using data compression you should pick a higher rate than
- the connection. Ideally, pick the highest rate that your computer can support
- well, to make sure you always get the best speed.
- Other than that, I would suggest taking some time to read the manual.
- Every HS modem has alot of confusing setting, so just experiment.
