- Yes, I know all about the Rules For Tools stuff, but I would not say
- it can do "just about anything you imagine." The way I understand it, a
- "tool" is useful only if you view your music as streams of notes that can be
- processed by some functions (tools) on input and output. That is a powerful
- paradigm, but it's not the only way to view composition by any means. Using
- an analogy of a printed score, I have yet to see a MIDI sequencer that lets
- you manipulate your music "vertically" (simultaneous events across different
- tracks) as well as it can "horizontally" (sequential tracks).

- BTW, an assembler lets you do "just about anything you can imagine"
- on your Amiga, but I wouldn't call an assembler the ultimate application.

- Just FYI, Music-X has an ARexx port and a developer's kit for doing
- similar things. I've written a few simple things and can see how it could
- get complex & powerful if necessary.
