  12.     I recently ran into a problem trying to run DVIPrint.  I was  
  13. wondering if some of the GURUs here could help me out.

  15.     I can't seem to get DVIPrint to work correctly.  The strange part  
  16. about my problem, is that I have been using tex for over a year with no  
  17. problems, showdvi, and dvi2hp work perfectly. So I think I have all my  
  18. fonts and other files are in the right place.  In the past I have been  
  19. using a program called dvi2hp which converts the .dvi file to hpcl (hewlet  
  20. packard control language), but it doesn't support this Special Host  
  21. program to allow bitmapped graphics.  When I switched over to DVIPrint, v  
  22. 1.19(Beta) program, it just doesn't work.  I've read all the doc and I  
  23. can't figure out what the problem is.  DVIprint doesn't complain at all.   
  24. It just tells me it's opening cmr12 at 300 and then prints out a page.   
  25. The page doesn't look right though.  If you look at it closely you can see  
  26. some of the parts of the characters are right, but most are random lines  
  27. and splotches.  Do these two programs use different pk files or something?
  28. I must be making a simple mistake, because I imagine the majority of  
  29. people using dviprint are using a hp compatible.

  31.     The command line I use is:

  33.     dviprint printer laserjet filename.dvi
  34.  
  35.     One note:  When I use dvi2hp it produces another file called  
  36. filename.hp.  To get my printer to print out the doc, I have to copy the  
  37. file to my PAR: device rather than my PRT: device.  Could this have  
  38. something to do with it?  It seems PRT: mangles my file.
