- Hello everyone, I finally had a chance to load everything on to my A3000 at
- home. I have ShowDVI working flawlessly as far as I can tell. DVIps works
- almost flawlessly: I just get some strange warning that says "Checksum
- mismatch in font manfnt.pk360" when I use it. I was converting the MetaFont
- documentation's .DVI file to PostScript when I noticed this problem. Any
- ideas? I deleted this font, and had MetaFont rebuild it, but I then get the
- same message. I have not tried converting any other .DVI files since I do
- not have any other .DVI files that are in English, which brings me to my
- second problem.
-
- Does anyone have any basic documentation in English or .DVI format on
- how to get virtex or initex (TeX) to work? I tried reading the .tex file,
- but I get lost due to all the embedded TeX commands. I tried to use both
- virtex and initex to build a .DVI file for the English docs on TeX, but I
- keep getting the following error "(Fatal format file error)." I may not be
- defining all the environment's variables or something. Any ideas? I may
- even be using the wrong commands - I am not sure. The command I used is as
- follows "virtex &plain tex" while the output from TeX is:
-
- This is a PD-Version of (big) Pas-TeX (made Aug 29 1991 [br]/[hes])
- This is TeX, C Version 3.14
- This is a format file for a `normal' TeX.
- (Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
-
- I am sure that my mistake is probably a basic one; however, I would
- appreciate any help someone can offer me. What would be great for me (as
- well as probably some other people) is to have some readable, English
- documentation that describes all the basic setups for American-based Amigas
- running PasTeX.
-
- Thank you for your help in advance!
