  12. A couple of weeks ago I posted a request for course notes.  Many people 
  13. responded with "I want a copy of what you get".  Well with the exception
  14. of those responses I received nothing.  Here is the outline of the course
  15. I am now trying to put notes together for:

  18. Introduction to Khoros and Cantata Course

  20. Session 1:
  21.   UNIX and X-Windows environment
  22.     .cshrc or .khoros_env
  23.     .Xdefaults
  24.   vman
  25.   Image creation and display
  26.   Data representation and conversion
  27.   point, neighborhood and transform operators
  28.   Xprism2 and Xprism3
  29.   batch processing
  30.  
  31. Session 2:
  32.   building standalone applications
  33.  
  34.  
  35. The format is about 2 hours of lecture followed by a hands on practice 
  36. session (lecture is in the morning and the practice session may last the
  37. rest of the day).

  39. Prerequisites: a basic understanding of image processing is required
  40. for the first session.  People deciding to attend the second session
  41. should be familiar with C programming and be able to use either the vi or 
  42. emacs editors.

  45. The first session I pretty much can handle, but I have yet to try building
  46. a standalone application by linking in library routines.  I guess I should
  47. at least try that once before I get in front of a class.  This will take
  48. me some time to organize because of all of the other things I need to do
  49. around here.
