  12. I met a problem. I could not display the image on my screen. What I did is to 
  13. try the example 1 in the cantata system on my machine (tyr.iesd.auc.dk) by use 
  14. of the machine (castello.vision.auc.dk). The following is the procedure I took.

  16. 1)xhost +castello.vision.auc.dk ---on my machine tyr.iesd.auc.dk
  17.  
  18. 2)rlogin rlogin castello.vision.auc.dk 
  19.  
  20. 2)export DISPLAY=tyr.iesd.auc.dk:0.0 ---on castello.vision.auc.dk
  21.  
  22. 3)cantata -restore $KHOROS_HOME/repos/workspace/examples/example1.Z
  23.  (The cantata master form appears on my screen with the example 1, which is to 
  24.   enhance a dim image.)

  28. 4)I pressed the RUN action button, and I tried to display the input and output
  29.   images on my screen, and I got the messages from the system:
  30.   .(0_warm) Can only display BYTE image. Do you wish to convert the image? ... 
  31.     the image will be normalized to 255. note: if ..... 
  32.     (I clicked the Cont button)
  33.   .(1_warn) Image is a byte image, but this terminal can only display 
  34.    monochrome images. Do you wish to dither the image?
  35.    (if I press the "Stop", an error message is given "Unable to display image";
  36.     if I press the "Cont", the system goes down as well as our X windows 
  37.     OpenWindows)
  38. Note that  the version of X windows is OpenWindows;
  39.            the machine is Sun 4;
  40.            the Operating System is UNIX.

  42. I would like to know the problem, perhaps it is not a bug in cantata but a
  43. bug in OpenWindows. Anyway, I appreciate your response about my problem.
