- This problem has been gnawing at me for a while....
- How the heck do I get a SLIP connection between PC-NFS 4.0 and
- the Annex 3 terminal server to work over a dialup connection?
-
- If someone has gotten the above combination to work, I'd much
- appreciate it if you can give some hints!
- FYI, I'd like to leave the dial-in port on the Annex to be in CLI
- or adaptive mode (ie. not just dedicated to SLIP connections).
-
- Here are the things I've already tried:
- -Direct connection works:
- null modem cable btw PC-NFS machine and the Annex 3. The Annex's
- port was configured to be a dedicated and hardwired slip connection.
- PC-NFS was set up to have a direct-connect slip port.
- Everything works fine and dandy here...
-
- -Non-slip dialup works:
- Intel 400/e modem (v.32bis) on the Annex port. The port is set
- for adaptive mode and dial-in connection. Using a Procomm+ on a
- PC w/another Intel modem, I can dial in and log on to other machines...
- Basically, I wanted to make sure there wasn't a flow control problem
- introduced in here.
-
- -Direct connection that doesn't work:
- The annex port was now set into CLI or adaptive mode (meaning it is
- no longer dedicated to just slip) and PC-NFS was set up as dialup.
- I used PC-NFS's "connect -i" and got the annex's prompt and typed
- in 'slip' to put the port into slip mode. Pressed F3 to get PC-NFS
- to get into slip mode. From there it hangs.... I'm probably doing
- something wrong here.
