  11. as an academic researcher, i was amused recently to be giving a 
  12. course on ISO standards  to a group of developers from
  13. the computing and telecommunications industry, and having to come up
  14. with excuses for the concrete baroqueness of ASN.1 and obfuscation
  15. that is the Session Layer Protocol.

  17. is there a FAQ or better still a Frequently Given Excuse for these?
