- Hi Netters:
-
- I am having a strange problem with cap5.0 running on Sun3/60 (SunOS 4.1.1).
- We have been using lwsrv and aufs for about 3 years now without any
- problems. The printer (Apple LaserWriter IIg) is connected serially to Sun.
- Recently we had to get the ROMs in LW IIg upgraded to the latest revision
- to clear some problems we had with printing postscript files from Sun directly.
- (I don't know if it is relevent but here's the problem we had: The printer
- wouldn't print more than 6 pages of a postscript file created using TeX and
- dvitps; The green light used to keep flashing and we always had to reboot
- the printer to have it working again.) This problem was solved once we
- installed the new revisions of ROMS. (addressing 4MB)
-
- But now, after installing those ROMS, lwsrv doesn't work. When I send a file
- from Mac, the printer gets busy (the green light flashes) and then stops. The
- log file shows 0 pages printed. I tried to print the temp file (using the -r
- option with lwsrv to retain the temp file) from Sun and even that doesn't get
- printed. So, it seems like there's something wrong with the postscript file
- that gets spooled to Sun.
-
- I even recreated the procsets just to see if that makes any difference. That
- didn't help. If any of you cap gurus know what's wrong, could you please
- let me know. I need to solve this problem as it is getting to be interestingly
- annoying :-<
-
- Thanks a lot in advance,
- Venkat Tadepalli
