  13. I was trying to move some software on DAT from one SUN with
  14. a HP-35480A DAT and another SUN with a WangDAT-3200, but the
  15. WangDAT wouldn't read what the HP-DAT had written. (Both DAT's
  16. use compression)

  18. The specific error message was:

  20. tar: error: invalid parameter

  22. To be sure I tried a few times writing again on the HP-DAT
  23. and trying to read on the WangDAT, with the same result.

  25. Yes, I tried with both HP DDS tapes and Sony DDS tapes.

  27. Funny thing is that the HP-DAT can read what is written by
  28. the WangDAT. So I guess you wouldn't want to move from
  29. HP-DAT to WangDAT (if anyone made this work please contact
  30. me).
