  29. An active terminator actually has one or more voltage regulators to produce
  30. the termination voltage, rather than using resistor voltage dividers.

  40. Notice that the termination voltage is varies with the voltage on the
  41. TERMPWR line.  One voltage divider (two resistors) is used for each SCSI
  42. signal.

  58. Assuming that the TERMPWR voltage doesn't drop below the desired termination
  59. voltage (plus the regulator's minimum drop), the SCSI signals will always
  60. be terminated to the correct voltage level.

  62. Several vendors have started making SCSI active terminator chips, which
  63. contain the regulator and the resistors;  Motorola is among them.

  65. In other SCSI chip news, several vendors including TI now make chips with nine
  66. RS-422 transceivers for use with differential SCSI.  These replace nine 75176
  67. type parts.
