- I have an Archive Viper 2150S tape drive and I'm curious about the
- buffer size switch settings. The manual (rather, sheet) says the
- switches control the size of the largest block that can be sent before
- disconnect. What exactly does this mean? Does it mean that the drive
- will not disconnect until a block of that size is received?
-
- In any case, what would be a good value for this setting? It goes
- from 2K, 4K, 8K, 16K, and 32K and some others that I can't remember.
- Since I have the option, I'd like to make the drive reasonably fast
- without bogging down my SCSI harddisk.
-
- Thanks for any info.
