- I wrote an article on HPLJ4 slow spooling in windows a few weeks ago and
- I have at last found out what went wrong.
-
- In the printing of graphics option in the windows environment, I choose
- raster graphics instead of HPGL. This causes all text and pictures to
- be processed as bit-mapped images before they were printed. Thus the
- cause of the slow spooling.
-
- Below are the approx. new statistics after I chose HPGL (HP Graphics
- Language) instead.
- Time to spool
- Text 1 - 1.5 sec / page
- Text + graphics 4 - 5 sec / page
-
- This is an improvement of about 70%. whoa!!!!
-
-
- I am HPLJ4 on a stand alone PC at 486DX-33 MHz with 4MB memory,
- 6MB virtual memory and 1MB norton cache memory (extended).
