- In reply to my previous query, ahill@boi.hp.com said that smudged
- return addresses are a common envelope-printing problem when printing
- is done in normal landscape mode. He suggested printing be done in reverse
- landscape mode.
-
- The Canon LBP-8III printers, and the CaPSL language, do not support
- reverse landscape printing in the normal ISO mode. The VDM mode does allow
- this as well as printing at any specified angle; however, the VDM mode is
- less convenient for printing envelopes (as I understand it, for instance,
- the VDM mode does not interpret a carriage return code as an instruction
- to move to the beginning of the next line). Has anyone developed software
- to invoke VDM mode to achieve reverse landscape printing, software that
- could be called by a word processor such as WordPerfect?
-
- Surely there must be others in the world who are using Canon printers to
- print return addresses on envelopes. What solutions have they adopted?
