  11. verify what has been an implicit assumption in this thread: that the
  12. reserved first word on the stack and VACX$ESTABLISH are
  13. purely for setjmp/longjmp support.  That is, if I avoid setjmp/longjmp,
  14. either by never unwinding the stack or by using SYS$UNWIND to do so,
  15. can I safely use LIB$ESTABLISH in a VAX C program?
