- I'm getting off the INFO-VAX list (as soon as I can figure out how).
- The unprofessional tone of the postings lately is just too much,
- and as innumerable others have noted, the signal to noise ratio is
- way down. It seems like most of the postings are flames, objections
- to said flames, and indignant responses from the flamer. And it
- isn't calming down with time! Now, nearly every post invokes yet
- another round.
-
- AND I CAN'T HIT THE 'N' KEY! I'm stuck with "mailx" on a UNIX V
- box. Once you start reading a message, you've got to let it
- scroll to the end. So I've been pre-deleting messages that follow
- the several flame threads (continually a growing number), to save
- time and my patience.
-
- I can save even more time by signing off INFO-VAX and learning to
- use "rn".
-
- I used to enjoy INFO-VAX, and wish to thank the many helpful
- participants. I appreciated the many scholarly postings and the
- humor displayed. Moreover, I hope the list recovers. About all
- it would take would be for Dr. Carl to go on Ritalin...
