  14. Upgrading our LAVC from VMS V5.3-1 to OpenVMS V5.5 
  15. we've got a very nice problem with mixed hardware !

  17. | We are using EMULEX terminal servers of the
  18. | P4000 series (the old ones with 1/2 MByte memory),
  19. | running EMULEX software version 1.03X2.

  21. Before upgrading VMS (and LAT) all things worked
  22. fine. Now, the EMULEX servers doesn't see the vaxes
  23. no longer (DEC server does!!!). Printing via EMULEX
  24. servers is working. Going back to EMULEX software 1.00,
  25. printing doesn't work at all, but - very astonishing -
  26. logging in is possible! This config isn't stable, for
  27. every half an hour the EMULEX biest want new software.

  29. | EMULEX, Germany says, that an upgrade is necessary
  30. |    o  of memory   ===> 1 MByte and
  31. |    o  ts software ===> V 2.16 (combined software)
  32. | will do the job for approx. 1000 $.

  34. We are in doubt! Is there anybody out in netland who
  35. can confirm this message ?

  37. And the essential question is:  
  38. Why is there no upgrade possible in the 1/2 MByte space ?
  39. We didn't want the option to run TCP/IP, for we are still
  40. happy with LAT.
