- Indeed I checked that the UCX$LPD symbiont (ECO 2) not only fails to
- respect the Fortran-style carriage control, but in fact inserts
- *no* newlines at all into a (VMS) "FORTRAN" file when sending it
- to a remote printer.

- at converting VMS carriage control attributes into "stream" format.)
