- Warning! One of our favorite flames (if not our favortie flame) - Ehud - has
- apparently tired of (choose one or more: FORTRAN, MACRO [32 or 64], C,
- MUMPS, TCP, DECnet, VMS, UNIX, wine, scotch and either Aplha or VAx Machine
- language) and has started talking English backwards. Frankly, I can't
- fault him - after all, the alternatives are pretty ugly in their true
- forms? Yes. Meantime, I'm trying to figure out how to use the mostly
- undocumented RCRWC (rotate character reverse with carry) VAX instruction so
- I can write an efficient program to decode Ehud's recent mail messages.
-
- Two questions: Does anyone know what the RCRWC instruction expects as
- arguments? I make it to be chunks of characters (Like the MOVTC - move
- translated characters - opcode 2E.) Like the MOVC5, apparently you do
- something like
-
- RCRWC src len<dst len
-
- ??
-
- Meanwhile, I'm left to sorting out the likes of:
-
- (67GE) norvaG duhE
- reganaM krowteN tseuqnuS
- moc.tseuqnus@norvag
-
- by hand?
-
- And: can't someone give Ehud something to do?
