- Do you use one single BACKUP saveset per tape or many small savesets per tape?
-
- In the latter case you should realize that tape marks cost a very large amount
- of space on the tape, the equivalent of several megabytes data per tape mark.
- An EXABYTE 8200 has filled a tape after a few hundred tape marks without a
- single byte of data. I once tried to COPY all .COM files in SYS$MANAGER
- (169 files, 1 Mb) onto tape. After two hours it asked for a second volume.
