  24. Well, unless I'm mistaken, the 2GB figure applies only if you:
  25.     1)  Write large records; and
  26.     2)  Keep the tape streaming
  27. If you're either:
  28.     1)  Writing small records; or
  29.     2)  Running an application that writes a record, pauses for awhile,
  30.         writes the next record, etc.
  31. then you're not going to be able to write the full capacity of the tape.

  36. understanding of astronomy is purely at the amateur level (or below).  So
  37. unless what I'm saying is directly related to VAX/VMS, don't hold me or my
