- I heartily echo the sentiments of those who OPPOSE a mailing-list format
- for this newsgroup, on the grounds that it would be both more difficult
- and more expensive for me to participate. The difference in my case would
- revolve around the fact that in newsgroup format the articles are stored
- in some location on the system that I do not personally get charged for,
- whereas in the form of mail messages I pay for storage. Considering that
- I would likely not be interested in EACH AND EVERY thread, I would end up
- paying for lots of information that I did not want. Newsgroup format is
- infinitely superior as far as I am concerned.
-
- If this group DOES become moderated, or spins off a moderated "elite" version
- of itself into a mailing list, I'd recomend choosing as moderator someone
- who could POLITELY redirect "stupid" questions, rather than who would flame
- the querant to a crisp for even asking. I.e., NOT Carl.
