  13. I heartily echo the sentiments of those who OPPOSE a mailing-list format
  14. for this newsgroup, on the grounds that it would be both more difficult
  15. and more expensive for me to participate.  The difference in my case would
  16. revolve around the fact that in newsgroup format the articles are stored
  17. in some location on the system that I do not personally get charged for,
  18. whereas in the form of mail messages I pay for storage.  Considering that
  19. I would likely not be interested in EACH AND EVERY thread, I would end up
  20. paying for lots of information that I did not want.  Newsgroup format is
  21. infinitely superior as far as I am concerned.

  23. If this group DOES become moderated, or spins off a moderated "elite" version
  24. of itself into a mailing list, I'd recomend choosing as moderator someone
  25. who could POLITELY redirect "stupid" questions, rather than who would flame
  26. the querant to a crisp for even asking.  I.e., NOT Carl.
