  14.     We are considering buying DEC's disk striping and/or shadowing
  15.     software and would be interested in other people's experiences    
  16.     with these products.   Our VMS environment will probably be
  17.     a VAX 4000/100 with 4 (or possibly 5) SCSI disks.

  19.     1) Disk Striping:
  20.         - how effective in improving disk I/O ?
  21.         - how reliable is it ?
  22.         - How easy is it to install and use ?
  23.         - any disadvantages ?

  25.     2) Volume Shadowing:
  26.         - how effective in improving disk I/O ?
  27.         - how reliable is it ?
  28.         - How easy is it to install and use ?
  29.         - can you have more than one shadow volume ?

  31.     3) Mixture of 1 & 2:

  33.        If both Disk Striping and Volume Shadowing are installed,
  34.        e.g. a shadow set of 2 disks is striped across 2 other disks,
  35.         - how easy is this to set up ?
  36.         - would we get improved I/O from shadowed reads *plus*
  37.           improved I/O from striped reads ?

  39.     Will either of these products work with non-DEC drives ?
