  22. We tried this once just to see how it well it worked.  We had assumed that we
  23. would have to increase some of the cluster related timing parameters, but found
  24. that it actually worked with all the parameters set to their default values.  We
  25. had a small LAVC (about 6 nodes) at the time, and could detect no performance
  26. impact, but we only had MV II and 2000, a real CPU might notice the difference.
  27. We were confident that DEC would never support it, but I had heard their
  28. engineers state that in principal cluster could run over any transport,
  29. depending on what kind of performance impact you are willing to take.
