-
- Yes It certainly will!
-

-
- As good as the IBM... (One thing that is better with Adaptec is that you get
- UNIX support.... but on the other hand, who wants that ;-)
-
- BUT One *VERY* IMPORTANT THING TO CONSIDER:
-
- OS/2 has a bug that makes it impossible to use a 16-bit MCA SCSI adapter IF you
- have more than 16Mb of RAM installed.
-
- I have 64Mb of RAM and I tried Adaptec's 1542 MCA SCSI adapter. It is indeed as
- fast as the IBM 32-bit w/cache that I now have, but I could not use it because
- THERE IS A BUG IN OS/2 that makes 16-bit MCA cards access memory above 16 MB
- erroneously!!! (IBM is *NOT* making big effort to fix this bug... :( )
-
- Conclusion: If you are going to have > 16 Mb RAM you should get a
- 32-bit MCA or EISA adapter...
- (Note: there is nothing such as a 32-bit ISA !)

- Peter
