  14. #in that direction.  I asked the FrameMaker folks if my MS-Windows
  15. #version would run under OS/2.  The official answer is "not reliably".

  28. I never tried the patch -- so I can't tell you whether it works
  29. reliably.  The patch is not simply an incompatible instruction
  30. -- it is really something much more innocuous -- it is simply a
  31. test to confirm the program is running in protected mode -- the
  32. patch is intended to remove the check.

  34. What I can tell you though is that FrameMaker runs very well on
  35. OS/2 2.1 beta -- a product which is scheduled to be available in
  36. a general release to he public in March 1993.

  38. You could apply the patch -- shouldn't be any problem -- or wait
  39. for OS/2 2.1 GA release in March 1993.
