  24. I was at the IBM rollout of OS/2 in New York, and several of the
  25. IBM'ers there, from the top man on down, (you know who), told me
  26. that any upgrades released during the first year would all be free
  27. to current users of OS/2, primarily they adopted this policy since
  28. some of the pieces were not all in place yet.
  29. This they claimed was unlike Microsoft that always kept you coming
  30. back for more. Frankly, this was very reassuring. I hope it was not
  31. mere hype and puffery. It was certainly intended to sell the
  32. product and clearly told to many attendees. I would be severely
  33. dissappointed if IBM was not as good as its word.
