- A few days ago, I posted a question about printing from Mathematica
- in OS/2. Although I have not recieved any replies to this question, a few
- people have asked how to run Mathematica in the first place.
-
- First off, I am running the following system:
-
- 486/33
- 8 M ram
- 100 M free HPFS disk space
-
- And the following software versions:
-
- Mathematica V2.1 for MS-Dos
- OS/2 V2.0 GA + SP
-
- - Installed under an OS/2 DOS window using the
- given installation program.
- - Either create a program object from the templates
- folder pointing to math.bat or work directly on math.bat
- - Open the settings notebook for the object
- - Click on "Sessions" tab
- - Click on the "DOS settings" button
- - Set "DPMI_DOS_API" to "ENABLED"
- - Set "DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT" to something >= 20
- (I set mine to 100. Why not?)
- - You may also want to set "DOS_FILES" to 40 or 50.
-
- These settings worked for me. If you are running 640 x 480 16color
- video drivers, graphics will run in a window. Otherwise you must run the
- graphics full screen. The text sessions will run in either a window or
- full screen.
-
- I hope this helps. If anyone has been able to print from within
- Mathematica I would appreciate knowing how it was accomplished. I have
- tried using the same settings for hardcopy.bat and the other executable
- files with no luck.
