- I have a Gateway 486DX2-66V connected to an Epson LQ800
- printer. My problem is that I cannot use the LPT1 option
- in Windows (it prints garbage when I try it) and so I have
- to use the LPT1.DOS option. The printer works fine with
- all DOS and OS/2 applications that I have tried.
-
- The Windows manual does not give an adequate explanation
- of just what the difference is between LPT1 and LPT1.DOS.
- My guess is that the "DOS" version uses BIOS and the normal
- one does not. My system's performance while printing is
- pathetic and I would like to alleviate the problem.
-
- Thanks for the help.
