- Did you leave the uncompressed space large enough?
- You should have left at least 5MB uncompressed to leave room for the
- Windows permanent swap file. Then before the uncompressed area gets
- fragmented go into Windows and create the swap file.
- I haven't seen version 3, but earlier versions made a default 1MB
- uncompressed area, just enough for the basic DOS boot files, stacker
- software and a few emergency utilities for if you run into problems.
- You can allocate more uncompressed area after installation. Check the
- docs, but I think it is SDEFRAG that allows it.
-
- Version 3 may have fixed this, but previous versions wouldn't work
- with a _permanent_ swap file on the compressed drive.
- A temporary swap file works fine on either drive.
-
- I'm using the terms uncompressed and compressed drive because C: and D:
- become ambiguous when you are using SSWAP.
