- I have a machine which uses 16550 UARTs. I am attempting to determine
- how the FIFOs work with Windows. Primarily, I am attempting to
- determine how Windows detects the presence of the 16550. I have
- "COM1FIFO=On" set in my SYSTEM.INI file. However, the FIFOs do not
- appear to be being utilized. How can I tell if they are being used?
-
- I tried:
-
- 1) Bring up debug and turn on the FIFOs
- 2) Startup Windows
- 3) Use debug to check; the register indicates that FIFOs are off
- 4) Exit Windows
- 5) Use debug to check; the register indicates that FIFOs are on
-
- Is Windows virtualization getting in my way?
